ReplyDeletepossibly the other way round, possibly. Bert Jansch was a formidable player in the early folk revial scene, and was a huge influence on a lot of people at the time. I'm a huge Jansch/Pentangle fan, and love those early Martyn records, London Conversation in particular
ReplyDeleteyeah London Conversation is a great album. I own a beautiful mono press of it. i love his version of cocaine. im more into the mid 70s lps with danny thompson on bass. match made in heaven. the right bass player makes all the difference..
ReplyDeleteactually i think martyn, drake, pentangle & string band might have played the small circut togetheer in the incredible string club back in the day. no wonder there are similarities :-)
