Stone Coal White

Just picked up this release on Shadows CaliTex label. Comp of 2 45s with a few other bits to make it worthy of Lp status. Very raw gritty sound due to the shite recording but it seems to work well. Nearly halarious stereo panning and dub reverbs.

Sabbath Assembly

These guys are supporting Earth and I'd loved to see them. The band features Jex Thoth and Dave Null from No Neck Blues Band recording their versions of Process Church of Final Judgement ‘hymns’. It's all fire and brimstone done in the style of Jefferson Airplane.

Stark Reality

Stark Reality in a lovely improv mood on the album "The Stark Reality Discovers Hoagy Carmichael's Music Shop". Good luck digging out the original on AJP.
Never been a big fan of their vocals but Monty Stark's here on vibraphone sounding as great as ever.

Astral Social Club - Snaefell

I'm a big fan of Astral Social Club. Neil Campbell's swirling psychedelic mix of noise and techno is a heady concoction. I was just thinking that it has been a while since I've bought anything by him and then I find this in my inbox - he has a new single coming out on the fantastic, and recently reactivated, Trensmat Records.
Here's the new one:

The Invaders

Really nice song from the album spacing out.. The original on "Duane" is way to expensive but "badass" records re-issued it in the 80s. Generally filed under psych but because its just too dang funky, "jazzman" picked up on it and released this with latin lips on the flip on 7"... cheers Gerald!

Hölderlin

Holderlin ‘s LP Holderlins Traum has long been one of my favourite German LP’s. More in the folk vain than say alot of their better known contemporaries at the time, but they found a very suitable home with the Pilz label with acts such as Witthuser and Westrupp, and also sit nicely on my shelf alongside similar artists such as Catherine Ribeiro

Here’s some cool live footage

and another track from the LP

Teeth of the Sea

been digging this band of late, hte video is from an a record that came out in 2009 i think...but i like the visuals, nice tune too. Check out their new LP Your Mercury
